I particularly enjoy helping our clients with coaching and advice to develop their businesses; recent projects I have worked on involved advising on business structure, access to finance and tax planning.
During my time in the profession I have seen the accounting landscape change and conditions in which clients trade change dramatically. This longer view means that I can identify innovative solutions and see that the future always opens the door to new opportunities.
As Team Development Director at Botham Accounting I manage the Accounts Team. This involves me mentoring the team, identifying each team member’s training needs, checking these are met and providing assistance and guidance to our junior staff as they progress through their professional exams. I make sure that each member of the team gets the relevant exposure and experience of new work to enable them to develop in their chosen role and complete their practical experience requirements. I take great pride from Botham Accounting being an ICAEW training office and continuing develop our team.
In my free time I’m an avid cyclist and can often be found riding in the Peak District or South Nottinghamshire area. I can show my cycling credentials with my 2017 statistics:
- I have been on my annual cycling holiday to the mecca of cycling, Majorca
- I have taken on some of the UK’s steepest climbs in the Lake District including the Hardknott Pass and Honister Pass
- During 2017 I have covered a total of 11,000 miles
- My hill climbing for 2017 is over 300,000 feet
