A large part of my role consists of producing year end accounts for clients. I also assist in the production of personal tax returns, undertake bookkeeping and VAT returns. I have a special interest in computer based accounting software and cloud based systems.
I am currently training to become a member of the ICAEW which will enable me to become a Chartered Accountant. I’m looking forward to broadening my accounting knowledge by getting more involved in both management accounts and auditing, which will enable me to give a more comprehensive service to our clients. I hope to use my knowledge of cloud based software and paperless systems to help Botham Accounting and our clients stay ahead of the competition.
Outside of work I try to do my part for charity. In the past few years I have run various 10Ks and half marathons (including the Humber Bridge Half Marathon, the North Lincolnshire Half, the Lincoln Half Marathon and the Lincoln 10K) dressed in 18kg of Viking chainmail to raise money and awareness for mind, Dementia UK, Save the Children and The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. I also love nature and wildlife and at weekends I do voluntary conservation work for the RSPB at Budby South Forest Nature Reserve, which is the largest area of historic heathland in the Midlands.
